The Project
With a rich history that can be traced back to 900AD, Hothorpe Hall is a stunning wedding venue on the border of rural Northamptonshire and Leicestershire that is also an ideal location for
meetings, group breaks, church retreats and functions. Since 1984, its current owners have overseen an ongoing programme of renovation and improvement on the hall and surrounding areas to increase the number of guests it can accomodate. It commissioned Blue Forest, an award-winning luxury tree house and sustainable eco-lodge specialist, to design and construct a new woodland lodge destination within the grounds of the estate.
The solution
The project to create six sustainable and low-energy eco lodges with 23 new bedrooms in total was more than two years in the planning. The Woodlands complex was opened in May 2015 and proved to be an instant hit in attracting more bookings for weddings and luxury breaks. The quality of the construction is breath-taking and all done to the highest standards, including the use of non-slip timber decking CitiDeck®. More than 3,500 metres of 34mm x 145mm C16
CitiDeck® anti-slip decking was installed to ensure that all the external walkways around The Woodlands would allow guests to walk safely around the venue all year round.
