We are members of the Timber Decking and Cladding Association (TDCA).

The TDCA is an independent, not-for-profit advisory and technical organisation, formed to influence and promote good industry practice. Membership of the TDCA involves a surveillance audit of our Quality Management Systems, ensuring our commitment to supplying excellent products and services.

The TDCA operates DeckMark and CladMark quality schemes which cover products, suppliers and installers. These verify the performance and longevity of materials that have been accredited or the high standards of the installer or the supplier that have been approved. The schemes require a full business audit and assessment to achieve accreditation which are maintained through ongoing audit checks.

DeckMark is an independent, third-party certification scheme (administered by the Timber Decking and Cladding Association). The DeckMark Product accreditation provides independent evidence of compliance with recognised quality manufacturing practices, ensuring the products supplied are fit for purpose.

Our CitiDeck® and AntiSlip Plus® products meet the requirements of the DeckMark Plus accreditation. DeckMark Plus is a complementary part of the TDCA DeckMark Product scheme. It identifies an individual manufactured component, or an assembly made from such components, that has undergone additional specific technical or safety evaluations by a national or international standard using recognised quantitative procedures.

We gained this additional accreditation due to the enhancement of our standard decking boards with our tried and tested anti-slip technology which has been independently tested by the Health & Safety Laboratory.

Structural grading

At Marley, we take pride in producing high-quality timber decking products. All of our timber is visually assessed to BS 4978 in line with the grading requirements of BS EN 14081 and are graded to European Strength Class C16 or C24. As part of our quality process, our timber decking also carries the UKCA mark.

All timber decks, whether domestic or commercial, are designed to carry specific loads; these include both uniformly distributed and point loads

Our fully trained graders will assess every board for any defect that may cause a weakness in the timber.

C16 Timber

• Manufactured from selected joinery grade European Redwood
• Graded to BS 4978 in line with the requirements of BS EN 14081 to achieve Strength Class C16
• Suitable for most landscaping and commercial applications

C24 Timber

• Manufactured from selected joinery grade European Redwood
• Graded to BS 4978 in line with the requirements of BS EN 14081 to achieve Strength Class C24
• Suitable for applications where there may be higher loads or there is the need for wider joist centres
• These may include bridge decks, boardwalks and balconies
• This premium board is further inspected to ensure that there are no knot holes or excessive dead knots
