Understand the culture of a practice as this may impact whether it’s the right fit for you
Find out if you know anyone who works there as this will help you get some useful insights into what it’s really like to work there and the type of projects you’re likely to get involved with
Look at the type of work the practice does and how that fits with what you want. Some practices specialise in residential work, where others focus more on commercial projects. The commercial world generally has much bigger, more diverse projects but they are generally a lot faster paced
